Elissa Gore has shared her passion for nature through landscape painting for over thirty years. A former girl scout, medical illustrator and professor of fine art, she lives in New York City and the Catskills. She travels to paint on site outdoors. Her work is in numerous private collections and over 60 public collections including the US Art in Embassies Program. A Philadelphia native, she has a BA and a BFA from the University of Pennsylvania. She often participates in plein air painting competitions. In 2013, she won the second place prize at Mid-Mountain Maryland, third place prize at Seneca Lake Plein Air, second place for an architectural subject at Havre de Grace and the outstanding watercolor prize at Saranac Lake.
Elissa teaches a plen air workshop at the New York Botanical Garden annually. In New York City, she is represented by Markel Fine Arts. Elissa keeps a log of her adventures in plein air painting at elissagore.blogspot.com
