Mia’s Year with MFA

By May 1, 2015 Uncategorized

Last year, money raised from MFA during The Great Give funded a fellowship for Mia Nardini – a young woman interested in a career in the arts.

Mia shares with us her thoughts about her year at MFA.

…from Mia

My year at MFA has been one of the most beneficial and enriching experiences of my life. At MFA I have been able to apply my education on many fronts and have worked with incredibly knowledgeable people who have not only supported me but also encouraged me.

Mia Nardini for Me & My Art When I started I had no idea how much I would actually get to do that directly related to my interests as well as my future goals within my prospective career. Opportunities to further my knowledge within my role as Gallery Manager were ideal presenting the occasions that allowed me to not only build upon those skills but also take them and apply them to the new role I was working as a Web Designer. I have added so many valuable experiences to my resume that I am so very grateful to have had the exposure to working in a artistic community.

The learned familiarity with the organization has helped me build my professional repertoire. Working with a group of such dedicated, talented, and enthusiastic people has been incredible and inspiring. Not only have the staff and volunteers at MFA allowed me to pursue my own interests, they inspired new interests that give me a more well-rounded understanding of my own path.

I feel truly blessed to have been given the opportunity to work within this organization. The simple fact that they saw my potential and believed enough in me to give me a chance was something that I have dedicated the last year of my life to honoring. I truly support their mission and believe that they do provide a tremendous service to artists as well as the community and I feel privileged to have been a part of such a great non-profit as MFA.

MFA was proud to be able to offer this opportunity to Mia through the Great Give 2014, and this year we want to provide a fellowship for Hannah Strum – a youngHannah LR-1woman who wants a start in an arts management career.

So mark you calendars for The Great Give – from 5 pm May 5 to 5 pm May 6. Don’t worry – we’ll send you an email to remind you.

Hannah is counting on  you!
