MFA Member: Richard Paul Weiblinger
Weiblinger has been juried into an exhibition at the Hill Center Galleries which runs through September 28, 2014. The Hill Center Galleries are located at 921 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington D.C. In addition, 20 of Weiblinger’s photographs on exhibit at the Glenview Mansion Art Gallery through August 29th, 2014, located 603 Edmonston Drive, Rockville, MD.
Weiblinger’s photograph “Blue Lily Golden Center” is featured in the Artists’ Gallery invitational exhibition, ending August 29. Artists’ Gallery is located at 10227 Wincopin Circle, Columbia, MD.
MFA Member: Leslie Giles
Giles is exhibiting “Waiting for the Launch, Gazebo” at the Annual Members Exhibition at the Academy Art Museum in Easton, MD through September 7, 2015.
MFA Member: D.H. Banker
Banker is holding a clay sculpture workshop at St. John’s college September 13 -November 22 (with the exception of October 11). Classes will be held on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon. The deadline to sign up is September 2, and there are a few spaces left. Tuition is $200 and the materials fee is $40. To sign up, click the link below.

MFA Member: Rick Casali
Katherine Burke of the Annapolis Collection Gallery has signed MFA member Rick Casali as one of her permanent artists. Rick says, “I am excited to have work in The Annapolis Collection Gallery. Proprietor Katherine Burke has fresh ideas and she’s passionate about promoting the arts in Annapolis. I’m looking forward to performing a live portrait sculpture demo in the gallery during this year’s Fringe Festival on Oct 4. Sculpting the model live for the public is a great way to engage the people and also to teach spectators about this timeless tradition.”
Casali will be teaching multiple classes at St. John’s College and Maryland Hall this fall.
- “Portrait Drawing in Charcoal” will be held Monday nights from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., September 15 to November 3 for $250. You can sign up at http://www.marylandhall.org/portrait-drawing-charcoal-1.
- “Monitored Figure Sculpture” will be held Friday afternoons from 1 to 4 p.m. for $250. The eight classes run September 12 – November 7. Follow this link to sign up: http://www.marylandhall.org/monitored-figure-sculpture-8-week-pose.
- “Earth and Fire: The Figure in Terra Cotta” is a three-day workshop, October 23, 24, and 25, from the hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This workshop costs $425 and you can sign up at http://www.marylandhall.org/earth-and-fire-figure-terra-cotta.
Lastly, he will be teaching a class called “Life Drawing” (nude figure drawing) at St. John’s College on Wednesday nights from 7 to 9:30 p.m. There will be eight classes from September 17th-November 5th which cost $200. MFA Member: Bruce Morton
Morton is doing a lecture/presentation of his book, “FORGOTTONIA” which dates back forty years. The lecture should last about 15-20 minutes and will be followed by a presentation of the book and a Q&A session. Following the presentation, Morton will show two of his “visual songs”.
