Introducing Mid-Summer Madness

Mid-Summer Madness is a non-juried show where are Members’ art will be hung on a first-come, first-serve basis, members are entitled to only a single entry. The first 60 pieces of work entered into our online entry system will be on display from August 20 – September 16 at MFA at 76 Maryland Avenue. All original 2D or 3D work following exhibition guidelines which specifies that work should not exceed 20” on any side (including the frame) is eligible for this exhibition.

The public is invited to vote for their favorite piece to win the People’s Choice Award. Votes may be cast at any time during the exhibition and the winner will be announced at the end of the exhibition.

Terms of Entry

• Entry is open to artists residing in any of the states or territories of the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
• Entering this exhibition indicates understanding and agreement on the part of the artist with the conditions stated herein and with (a) MFA’s approved Statement of Equality and Diversity and (b) MFA’s General Guidelines. Work must meet exhibition guidelines to be included in the event. MFA may determine work ineligible if entry guidelines are not followed. Work delivered must correspond with the image(s) submitted.
• Images of accepted works may be used at the sole discretion of MFA for promotional purposes including, but not limited to: the invitation, catalog, website, or social media. Images will include attribution wherever possible.
• Work cannot be withdrawn before the end of the event.

Liability

• All work will be handled with all possible care, but pieces submitted for exhibition are at the artist’s risk. In the event of damage or theft, the MFA will not be held liable. If insurance is desired, the artist must carry it.

Awards

• Cash awards total $100. One People’s Choice Award will be voted on by the public.

Sales

• Artists will retain 70% from sales (75% for MFA Members). MFA will retain 30% commission (25% for MFA Members) on any work sold through MFA.
• Work must be for sale. Work may be set to Price on Request (POR).

• May 6 Online Entry Opens for Submissions
• Jun 24 Entry Deadline
• Aug 13 – 14 Accepted and Shipped Work Must Arrive from 10 AM – 2 PM at 76 Maryland Avenue
• Aug 20 Exhibition Opens, People’s Choice Voting Opens
• Sept 14 People’s Choice Voting Closes at 5 PM
• Sept 16 Last Day of Exhibition and Closing Reception at 76 Maryland Ave from 5 – 7 PM
• Sept 17 – 18 Pick-up Hand-Delivered Work from 76 Maryland Ave from 10 AM – 2 PM
• Sept 25 Shipped Work Will Be Sent

NOTE: Should Circle Gallery, the new gallery- 76 Maryland Avenue, or any other exhibition space be closed for reasons beyond our control, MFA reserves the right to move a planned physical exhibit to our online gallery.

Notification

All entrants will receive notification by email. Accepted artists will also be posted on MFA’s website. Artists who have unsubscribed from MFA emails will not receive notification.
