Introducing MFA’s Art Journey Labs!
We are excited to introduce these forums to help you learn about art!
We are excited to introduce an entire schedule of in-person forums by pairing with community experts to help guide artists on their path, and to help art lovers de-mystify the art collecting and appreciation experience. These labs include topics for artists about how to create their brand, manage their finances, present their work in a professional way that is affordable, and so much more. For art lovers, we will answer the questions that people are often afraid to ask, such as: How do I know this artwork is good? What type of art can I hang in my house? Why are some artworks inexpensive and others feel out of reach? Is art a good investment?
The Business of Art for Artists
You’ve been selling your artwork for years, or perhaps you’ve taken on art as a second career, and you just dipped your toe in the water. Maybe you have just graduated with a Degree in Fine Arts, and you need to feel confident in establishing yourself as a business.
Everyone who sells art is running their own business. Whether you sell your own work, or work exclusively through galleries, you are a small business owner. That can be a daunting prospect, and if you’ve already ventured into that territory, you probably have hundreds of questions about every related to being an artist in today’s world. You don’t have to be a “professional artist” to viewed professionally and taken seriously!
We’re pairing up with the experts in the Anne Arundel County Community to answer as many of those questions as we can, in a way that gives you the chance to interface directly and come away with tools for success.
