Introducing Corporate Connections:

MFA’s Corporate Connections program launches an opportunity for artists to connect with professional developers, designers, and more at this one-day gala event at the MGM Casino in National Harbor, Maryland. Entry is open to new and established MFA member artists. Entries of original 2D or 3D work may be submitted for consideration by the juror. All images of selected works will be featured in a promotional catalog and also displayed on MFA’s online Curve Gallery from September 15 – October 31, 2021.

Jurors will be made up of a panel of commercial designers in the DC/Baltimore area.

Terms of Entry

All entries must adhere to MFA general guidelines as well as the terms of entry specific to the exhibit as listed below. When entering the exhibition you will be asked to accept the Terms of Entry. Any entry that does not follow Terms of Entry and General Guidelines will be subject to rejection regardless of the Juror’s decision.

Corporate Connections is open to MFA Members. Non-members, if desired, may join immediately prior to entry. Entry is open to artists from the 50 United States, DC, and Puerto Rico. Entering this exhibition indicates understanding and agreement on the part of the artist with the conditions stated here and at mdfedart.com/mfa-general-guidelines. Work must meet delivery and exhibition guidelines to be included in the event. Images of accepted works may be used at the sole discretion of MFA for promotional purposes including, but not limited to: the invitation, catalog, website, social media, or a subsequent year’s prospectus. Images will include attribution wherever possible. Artists will retain 75% from sales. Work cannot be withdrawn before the end of the event.

Work

  • A maximum of 6 original works created within the past 3 years may be entered.
  • Work previously exhibited as a part of Corporate Connections is not eligible for re-entry.
  • Maximum size of work, including edges of artwork or frame, cannot exceed 80 inches in any direction. Artists may be asked to assist with the installation of oversized work (greater than 60″).

Awards

Cash awards total $20,000.

Jurors will select 50 pieces, 1 per individual artist, to display online and in a promotional catalog.

20 artists will be invited to attend the event to discuss their work with potential clients. Jurors will select artwork to be purchased from within the top 20 artists. Up to $20,000 in purchase money is available. Artists retain 75% of purchase.

Entries and Submission Fees

  • All work must be entered by uploading JPEG images through MFA’s online entry system. Set pixel dimension to around 2,000 pixels on the longest side. File size may be no more than 5 MB.
  • Images for the juror must correspond with the actual work.
  • All entries must be original and completed solely by the artist’s hand. Work must be for sale. Work cannot be set to Price on Request (POR).
  • Works may not exceed 80 inches in width, height, or depth, including the frame, unless otherwise specified. 
  • Entry fees are $25 ($95 for non-members, including membership costs) for 1 or 2 entries and $5 each for up to 4 additional entries, for a maximum of 6 total entries. Entry fees are non-refundable.
  • To enter online, you will need an MFA account that includes an email address and a password. There is no charge to create an MFA account.

  • Sept. 1 Award announcement
  • TBA Shipping deadline for the 20 artists chosen to display their work at the Corporate Connections event
  • Sept. 15 Online exhibition opens
  • Sept. 23 Event reception to be held at MGM Casino in National Harbor, Maryland. More details TBA
  • Oct. 31 Online exhibition closes.

NOTE: Should the exhibition space be closed for reasons beyond our control, MFA reserves the right to move a planned physical exhibit to our online gallery. Please mark your calendar for notification. This may include specific information that varies from the prospectus.
