Introducing the Fall Member Show:

This annual juried exhibition is open to all MFA members working in any original 2D or 3D media. Works selected by the juror will be on exhibit from Sept. 22 – Oct. 16, 2021.

Juror: Chanel Compton, Executive Director at the Banneker-Douglass Museum

Chanel Compton is an artist and the Executive Director of the Banneker-Douglass Museum in Annapolis, Maryland. She grew up in Bridgeport, CT and received her Bachelors of Fine Art from Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of Arts.  She works as an artist and lives by a strong belief that art is a vehicle to connect people. She has exhibited throughout the region, as well as internationally. In Sao Paulo, for example, she exhibited at the Museo Afro Brasil. Currently, she lives and creates art in Baltimore, Maryland.

NOTE: Should Circle Gallery or any other exhibition space be closed for reasons beyond our control, MFA reserves the right to move a planned physical exhibit to our online gallery. Please mark your calendar for notification. This may include specific information that varies from the prospectus.

Terms of Entry

All entries must adhere to MFA general guidelines as well as the terms of entry specific to the exhibit as listed below. When entering the exhibition you will be asked to accept the Terms of Entry. Any entry that does not follow Terms of Entry and General Guidelines will be subject to rejection regardless of the Juror’s decision.


  • A maximum of 6 original works created within the past 3 years may be entered.
  • Work previously exhibited in a juried show at Circle Gallery is not eligible.
  • Works may not exceed 72 inches in width, height, or depth, including the frame, unless otherwise specified for a particular exhibit.


Cash awards designated by the juror total $500. A $50 Conley Award for 3D is funded and selected by Susi and Rob Conley.

Entries and Submission Fees

  • Entries must be submitted online.
  • Entry fees are $25 for one or two entries and $5 each for up to 4 additional entries. Entry fees are non-refundable.
  • To enter online, you will need an MFA account that includes an email address and a password. There is no charge to create an MFA account.
  • Submit one JPEG image per piece entered, or as allowed. To provide the best image for the juror set pixel dimension to around 3000 pixels on the longest side. File size may be no more than 5 MB.
  • Images of accepted works may be used at the sole discretion of MFA for promotional purposes including but not limited to the invitation, catalog, website, or on a subsequent year’s prospectus. The image will include attribution whenever possible.

Exhibition Schedule:

  • May 24 Online entry open for submissions.
  • Jul. 29 Deadline for entries.
  • By Aug. 24 All artists notified by email. Check or contact MFA if you do not receive notice.
  • Sept. 15 – 19 Shipped work must arrive at MFA Circle Gallery. Please read the prospectus for more on how to ship your piece.
  • Sept. 22 First day of exhibition.
  • Oct. 3 Digital reception. More info will be posted about the reception as we get closer to the date.
  • Oct. 16 Last day of exhibition.
  • Oct. 17 – 18 Pick up handed-delivered work, 11 AM – 5 PM. There is a $10 fee for late pickup.
  • By Oct. 20 Shipped work will be sent.


All entrants will receive notice by email. The notice to accepted artists will include specific details and could vary from the prospectus.
