About the Artist

Jill Tanenbaum,   Bethesda, MD

I started working with fused glass in 2002 and in 2010; I became a resident artist at the Art Glass Center at Glen Echo. There, I helped develop the class syllabus, taught classes, exhibited and sold work, held open studios, and helped manage the gallery. In July 2015, I joined The Waverly Street Gallery, a co-op gallery located in Bethesda, Md. The gallery features local contemporary artists working in a wide range of media. Currently, I work from my home studio in Bethesda, Maryland. I started working with collage several years ago and now show, sell and teach mixed media. I am a member of the NCAGG, the JRA (James Renwick Alliance) and the MFA (Maryland Federation of Art).

I have won several awards for my glass and collage work. My work has been exhibited in many venues and two of my glass pieces are included in the permanent collection of the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities. I have a BA in Studio Art and an MA in Publications Design. I owned an advertising and graphic design agency for thirty years before retiring in 2012.
