For over 25 years George Sass ran Sass Communications, an advertising and PR firm with offices in New York, Maryland and Europe. He won numerous awards for his print, radio and TV creative work. For five years he also served as Chairman of the World Independent Network of Advertising Agencies and was responsible for the development of global advertising campaigns.

In 2002/03 he and his family took a one-year, 6,000-mile voyage aboard his boat, cruising from Canada to the Bahamas. His travel writing and photography were published in national magazines and upon his return he retired from his ad agency to focus on his editorial writing and photography. He has won a number of international awards for his photojournalism work and has served as a contributing editor for several national boating magazines.

Sass lives in St. Michaels, MD with his wife Stacey, a watercolorist.Together they travel extensively by land and by sea in search of new sights they can share through their respective art forms.
