About the Artist

Rosa Vera,   bethesda, MD

Peruvian-born, Rosa Vera grew up in Washington, D.C. and in Latin America. She is an award-winning artist who paints in acrylics, encaustics, watercolor, mixed media and oils. She currently lives between Bethesda, Maryland and Lima, Peru.

Rosa has exhibited in national shows including the National Arts Club, the National Watercolor Society Show, International Society for Experimental Artists (ISEA), Watercolor USA, and The Art League of Alexandria. Rosa won the Presidents' Prize at the ISEA's International Juried Art Exhibit, and First Place in The Artist's Magazine, the 2010 Board of Directors Award at the International Exhibition, Watercolor Art Society-Houston, and the Gold Medal, Mid-Atlantic Regional Exhibition, Baltimore Watercolor Society. Her work is in private collections in the US and internationally, as well as the permanent collection of the National Institutes of Health.

Her paintings appear in the books: AcrylicWorks 4, Incite 2: The Best of Mixed Media, Incite: The Best of Mixed Media, AcrylicWorks: Best of Acrylic, The Art Lovers' Cookbook–San Antonio Edition, The Artistic Touch 4, and Splash 12: Artistic Vision.
