Julie Franchimon DeMar is an award-winning artist. Born and raised in Maryland. She enjoys the beauty of the water, and the variety of the four seasons. She loves to travel, and always has her sketch book and camera with her for inspiration. Many of her pieces are commissioned by art lovers for collections in private homes. Mostly self-taught, she has also had the opportunity to study portraiture at the Smithsonian Portrait Gallery. A special study program that culminated in having her portrait hung in the gallery for a show. As a young artist she studied at the Maryland School of Art & design, and the Corcoran School of Art.
