Renew as Art – my mantra. My canvas is cast-off glass that I find and refurbish: old windows, discarded picture frames, worn glass cabinet doors. I heal the wood frame and paint with bold colors on the glass. My style is either abstract or impressionistic, and I use alcohol inks, acrylic glass paints, gels, and stains. The subjects of my art are from the rich world I encounter, primarily where I live in Maryland. A heron on the Paint Branch trail, the landscape of the local woods, and the faces of people I know and love. And sometimes the art is simply inspired by a line in a poem or song.
