Meredith Way Morris is a graduate of the Master Artists Program at The Compass Atelier in Maryland. She has studied art at Montgomery College and with many master artists in workshop settings. Her award winning paintings have been shown at numerous galleries including Circle Gallery, Atheneum Gallery, Glave Kocen Gallery, Zenith Gallery, and Martha Spak Gallery at the Wharf. Meredith has received awards for her work from prestigious jurists including Dr. Harry Cooper, Head Curator of the Modern and Contemporary Art department of the National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC. Meredith works in oils, gouache and charcoal and is most interested in portraiture and plein air painting. Her work is representational but she has a strong interest in incorporating abstraction to inform and enhance the emotional aspects of her subject matter. She and her husband live on a small farm in Montgomery County Maryland and spend time at their home in Ireland whenever possible.
