About the Artist

Sally Davies,   Greenbelt, MD

Sally Davies studied illustration and graphic design at Sheridan College in Canada. Over the years, she has illustrated magazines, cookbooks, menus, posters, textbooks, and many children's books. Her illustrations are done with ink line and bright watercolor washes and are very different from her fine art paintings which tend to be looser in style and on large canvases. sallyjkdavies.wix.com/sallydaviespaintings

For the past 15 years, Sally has shifted her interest to exhibiting her non-illustration art in various galleries (primarily at the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria and with the Maryland Federation of the Arts in Annapolis). She is a juried signature member of the Baltimore Watercolor Society, Potomac Valley Watercolorists, and the Children's Book Guild of Washington, DC. She has her own studio in Greenbelt, Maryland.

Currently, she is working on a series of large acrylic paintings on canvas with the challenge of interpreting an interesting scene from a unique angle; viewed from a bridge, balcony, or cathedral staircase window. These new paintings will be exhibited in "Global Views" at the Art League Gallery. She was awarded a solo show for July 2017 at the Art League.
