Susannah Lynch has been interested in art since childhood. She has forty years of experience with painting and photography. She has had training in various media, but most of her experience lies in the painting media, oil and watercolor. She has also experimented with multimedia such as found objects, collages, and combinations of stone, shells and glass. Susannah graduated from St. Mary’s College of Maryland in 1987 with a BA is art. She has been living in Southern Maryland for 40+ years in St. Mary’s County.

Her painting and multimedia work is an extension of her emotional and intellectual life. She experiments with art to fulfill something that cannot be expressed in any other way; such as, memories of places, thought and feelings made manifest through tangible means. She strives to engage the viewer emotionally in the work, and hopes that viewers bring something of themselves to the work. Light, dark, value contrasts and color all evoke a response of some kind. The goal is to continue to grow, experiment and exist as a painter/creator and to share that experience with others.

She has been interested in art from a very young age. She was raised in Southern Maryland in rural St. Mary's County on a small horse farm. Nature and living things have always been an inspiration. She lives and raised a family in the same town where she grew up. She continues to be inspired by the rural surroundings, and the sweet light that exists between two rivers.
